First time here?
Welcome to Valkyrie Fitness.
First class got you feeling nervous? Don’t sweat it - here’s everything you need to know so you can show up feeling prepared:
Getting here:
Our studio is located on 10 S Columbia St in Wenatchee, above SPORT Gymnastics. If you are looking at the front of the building on Columbia St, the door to the right will lead upstairs. Once upstairs, walk towards the back of the building. Our studios are located on the left side of the hallway. #203 is where the kettlebell classes will be held, and #205 is where the aerial yoga classes will be held.
There is a free public parking lot on the corner of Palouse St & Columbia St. The parking lot directly next to our building is only open to the public on weekends and weeknights after 6pm.
When to arrive:
Our studio is on the top floor, so make sure to give yourself enough time to walk up the steps. Consider it a part of the warm up!
Doors open 15 minutes before class. We recommend arriving in the studio at least 5 minutes early so that you have a chance to get settled before the warm up begins. For aerial yoga, you should aim arrive about 10 minutes early so that the instructor has time to adjust the hammock to your height if needed. Doors will be locked at the start of class, and late arrivals will be treated as no shows.
What to wear:
Aerial Yoga Class:
Wear comfortable clothing that feels good to move in (ie: whatever you’d wear for a regular yoga class). More form fitting clothing tends to be less “in the way” and less likely to leave you exposed during inversions, but you do you. Many new members prefer to wear clothing that covers the armpits and thighs to prevent “rope burn”.
Please remove all jewelry that may get caught on or snag the hammock - especially rings!
Most people prefer to do aerial yoga in bare feet. We don’t recommend wearing regular socks as they can be slippery on our floors. If you have cold feet would like to wear socks, make sure that they are form fitting and have grippies on the bottom. No shoes are allowed in the class.
In consideration of those who are sensitive to smells, please don’t wear any fragrances to class.
Kettlebell Class:
Wear comfortable clothing that you are ready to move and sweat in.
Shoes are optional in this class, and many people prefer to train barefoot when using kettlebells. If you do wear shoes, choose athletic shoes with firm or flat soles with very little heel or padding is best. It’s best to avoid wearing cushy running shoes, but wear whatever you feel the most comfortable lifting weights in.
Kettlebells are great for developing grip strength. Because of all the grip work, wearing rings to class can be uncomfortable. We often hold the kettlebell in the “rack” position, in which the kettlebell is held by the hand and rests on the wrist. Watches and bracelets can get in the way of this, so we don’t recommend wearing them in class.
Bring a sweat towel if you think you’ll need one!
What to bring:
Water bottle (we do have refill stations)
Sweat towel (optional, but we do not offer them in the studio)
Yoga mat (for kettlebell classes only - we do have some you can borrow if you don’t have one, but many people prefer to bring their own)
Cancellation Policy:
We ask for 4 hours notice for cancellations. Late cancellations will result in the loss of the session if using a drop in pass or a membership with limited sessions, or a $15 late cancel/no show fee for those with unlimited memberships.
An exception to this policy can be made if you have to cancel due to illness or emergency, but you will need to email us within 24 hours of the missed class at info@valkyriefitnessstudio.com
