Class Cancellation Policy

Roxy here, the owner of Valkyrie Fitness.

For those of you who know me, you know that I am always trying to find ways to make policies that are beneficial for all of us - students, instructors, and business.

We’ve been updating the terms of our membership agreement recently (more to come on that later), and have been examining our class cancellation policy. Here is what we will be changing it to, starting on 3/10:

  • We’re reducing the student late cancellation window to 2 hours! This means that you will only be changed the $15 late cancellation fee if you cancel less than 2 hours before the class begins. This also applies to no-shows.

  • If no one is booked into a class at least 2 hours prior to the start time, the class will be cancelled. We have several instructors who live outside of Wenatchee (Cashmere, Monitor, Entiat, Rock Island, etc), and they need more than 1 hour’s notice if a class will be cancelled.

  • We will not cancel a class if there is only 1 person signed up. If you would like to ensure that the class happens, make sure to book that class! I’ve heard so many people say that they were waiting for someone else to sign up first, and end up feeling disappointed when the class is cancelled. If you know you can make it, be the first one to sign up and it’s more likely others will follow suit!

  • As instructors, we love getting to know you better one-on-one. Don’t avoid signing up on our behalf!

  • In the event that you miss class because of an emergency, please text or call us (509.433.7858) within 24 hours of the no-show/late cancel to reverse the charge/forfeiture. Refunds are not available after 24 hours.

Finally, I wanted to talk about the late cancellation fees, because I know that there are mixed feelings about them.

Many want to know - where do the late cancellation fees go? We actually put them in a scholarship fund! This fund has been used to help members in a variety of ways. This summer, we’re planning on using it to sponsor children in our summer camps (more to come on that later).

Late cancellation fees are not something we profit off of. They are just an accountability and planning tool to help us run the studio more smoothly. And the fact that we get to provide scholarships for students is an extra bonus!
